Getting Started In Fylkirvegr
Fylkirvegr is a Norse region in NationStates, that is a united parliamentary constitutional monarchy situated in all of Yggdrasil after the drastic events of Ragnarok, sharing the tree with the region of Yggdrasil, another region in the holy huge tree of Yggdrasil. The Founder and King of Fylkirvegr, Freedomanica, was originally one of the gods, the god of air to be specific, he chose special nations to keep with him while hiding in the roots of Yggdrasil, only coming out after Ragnarok, many of his friends died that time, however, for reference, here is the list of the chosen nations:

• The United Kingdom of Angelic Holiness
• The Kingdom of Fylkirvegr
• The Dictatorship of Demonic Evility
• The Queendom of Tropolistia
• The Empire of Marcellion
• The Grand Duchy of Francessiano
• The Kingdom of Drathalon

The rest of the details on the founding of Fylkirvegr is in the dispatch below the World Factbook Entry named ‘The Great Founding of Fylkirvegr’. We afterwards had colonized Yggdrasil and made two external regions in NationStates outside Yggdrasil namely, Fylkirvegr Army and Fylkirvegr Cards Guild, their is a sacred bridge connecting these regions to Fylkirvegr. The colonization encompassed all of the nine worlds of Yggdrasil, later on, they would be called ‘states’, since the colonization, of course. Ever since, we have been growing from strength to strength. We currently, in the executive government of Fylkirvegr, have a Prime Minister, 9 Governors who govern one state of all the nine states, Deputy Prime Minister, 7 Ministers, 9 Elder Norse Councillors, a World Assembly (WA) Secretariat, a General Assembly (GA) Secretariat, a Security Council (SC) Secretariat, 7 Deputy Ministers, a Cards Guild Secretary General and a Vice Secretary General. In the judicial branch, we have one Chief Justice and 3 Deputy Chief Justices. In the legislative branch, we have one Speaker, and three Deputy Speakers.

1. Join The Regional Forums

The first thing I would do is register on the regional forums immediately. There, you can familiarize yourself with the laws, the regional assembly, the court procedures and so forth. Once you have done this, you would have unlocked so many opportunities. On the top-right hand corner, register yourself! You will find on the World Factbook Entey, it will say ‘Regional Forum’, click it! The text will take you there!

2. Read Our Laws

It is suggested that before you participate in anything, and do whatsoever after you have joined the regional forums, you should read our laws, this can give you an insight on how the region works and you will understand this complicated and massive region better! You will gain the knowledge you need to go further! You will have a greater understanding than people who ignore the law! You can find the laws at the regional forums, then go the the Parliament of Fylkirvegr (judiciary of the region), afterwards, go to laws! There you go!

3. Apply For Citizenship

Apply for citizenship! This is the complete basic! Go to the regional forums, then go to Himinbjorg, afterwards, go to ‘Apply For Citizenship!’. You are then required to sign a pledge of sincerity, afterwards the regional Speaker or Deputy Speaker, will grant your citizenship application, but only after passing all the checks! After this, you will be able to do so much more!

4. Join A State

Join a state! After you applied for citizenship and they GRANTED your application, you then apply to join a state, there are nine states in Fylkirvegr namely:

I. Asgard

II. Midgard

III. Aflheim

IV. Niflheim

V. Svartaflheim

VI. Vanaheim

VII. Jotunheim

VIII. Helheim

These are the states you can join, after this, you can finally get on the interesting stuff to do!

5. Join The Government

You should join the government afterwards! The government of Fylkirvegr is split into three branches, the judiciary, the legislature and the executive. You at this point will only join the executive government because the judiciary and legislature will require you to campaign for Speaker or Chief Justice, elections are every four months, you as Speaker, will then appoint your three deputies. To join the government go to the regional forums, afterwards go to Himinbjorg, then go to ‘Join The Executive Government Or Fylkirvegr Army (FA)!’. You then fill in the details, then your application will then be reviewed by an Elder Norse Councillor or Speaker or Administrator. You can only be granted into the government if you have applied for citizenship! You will have a choice to join a department of your choice, the region has seven departments, organized and managed by a Minister and a Deputy Minister for each. Here are the seven departments:

• Department of Sports, Arts and Culture (Telling everyone in the region about the various activities that are currently taking place that are LIMITED in spaces or entries, such as join the Fylkirvegr Football League, join the Poetry Competition and stuff like that, make events for the region to have fun!)
• Department of International Security (you need to be a WA Member, limited spaces! This department is focused on defending the region against invaders, you are basically applying to join the Elder Norse Council, you will receive endorsements to defend the region and the Prime Minister)
• Department of Home Affairs (Informing newcomers about the various BASIC stuff to do in Fylkirvegr such as Discord, The Regional Forums, The Regional Google Site, Role Play and so forth)
• Department of Defense (You are basically enlisting yourself in the Army, so if you want this, there will be a pledge you need to say)
• Department of Communications (Making weekly and monthly articles for The Fylkirvegr Gazette, as well as advertising the region)
• Department of International Relations and Cooperation (WA Membership needed, discussing WA proposals if should be supported and discussing embassies)
• Department of Social Development (keeping the citizens happy and in good spirits, healthy regional message board)

6. Join The Regional Role Play

Join our regional role play. It is advised to first join our main and primary role play, Game of Thrones, it is a blast! You have your own nifty folder for your NationStates nation, and you deal with diplomacy, war and economic deals with the other kingdoms in the region and solve issues made by the Role Play Moderators. The older your kingdom is, the more powerful your military is! So it is best to sign up as soon as possible! Afterwards you can join the other role play servers made by residents of the region! If you want to make your own role play fantasy world apply in the regional forum! To go to Game of Thrones first go to Role Play, then you go to Game of Thrones, afterwards you then go to Cartography, then you will find the thread about claiming your kingdom, first, you need to mark where your country will be, it can’t be bigger than Freedomanica. You can always expand later on!

7. Elections

Eventually you will be aware of the elections soon, you can plan in advance by looking at the Calendar at the regional forums. There are elections for the following positions:

• Prime Minister
• Minister
• Governor
• Speaker
• Chief Justice
• World Assembly Secretariat 
• General Assembly Secretariat 
• Security Council Secretariat 
• Cards Guild Secretary General 

For Prime Minister, our most prestigious role in Fylkirvegr, we have elections every six months! If you want to become a Prime Minister, participate in the region, get a name for yourself, and when the day comes! Submit a knocking-good campaign! More details will be sent on the week prior. For Minister, elections are every 4 months. Governor of a state can only be fulfilled if you have joined a state, of course! After you have done your campaign you have been voted as Governor of a state, you must then compete for Chief Governor Representative! You will gain lots of power! For Governor, elections are every 4 months as well. For speaker, elections are every three months! If you want to be speaker, you have lots of chances to do so! If you succeed, you will then appoint your three deputy speakers and you will have the power to grant citizenship to residents (once they pass all the checks) and you will manage the Regional Assembly! For Chief Justice, elections are every three months, you should respect justice and always be fair! The Chief Justice is the advisor for the Minister of International Security. In your campaign, speak the truth! We want the truth to be served! For World Assembly Secretariat, General Assembly Secretariat and Security Council Secretariat, elections are every two months, you must be a resolution author however! You will manage all the Draft Proposals on the forum and you will edit and/or give good advice and tell them of any rule violations! These positions are extremely hard to receive! The other final position, is Cards Guild Secretary General! You will make lots of puppets (lots of nations) that must have the Fylkirvegr Flag as their national flag, then you transport them to the region, “Fylkirvegr Cards Guild”, here you will make 500 puppet nations, then you will spot epic and legendary cards by those puppet nations (kind of like card farmers!), afterwards, you will revive them from the Cards Guild Vice Secretary General to hang out to nations who endorsed the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Elder Norse Councillors, the King and the Minister of International Security! Cards Guild Secretary General elections happen every 2 months!

For all elections, you should participate if you want it! Campaign early, campaign well-written and engaging!
